I began my investigation into the possible location of the beach, with a simple mood board. The two beaches that came to mind first were Holkham (Pine woods, Sand Dunes, Landscape) and Wells Next to the Sea (beach huts, steam train, small town, docking harbor), as they both have iconic features to them. The images exhibited on my mood board are secondary images from Google, however I plan to visit both destinations and take some shots of my own.
Anna and I chose to go with the song 'Beach song' by "Jungle Doctors"; after conversing with our teacher it was agreed that the fact that the scene has already been set for the music video (beach), it will be very helpful when thinking of location and ideas.
Possible Locations
We began by starting with the obvious - what beaches we would be shooting at. Firstly we felt that Holkham beach would be an interesting place to shoot as it is a quite and desolate space. The fact that the woods lead onto the beach, is helpful too as they could be a good place to shoot, and show our characters journey. The example given is a perfect place to shoot.
The beach huts in Holkham I believe are also a superb place to shoot. I like them as they are unique and colorful, unlike some beach huts I have seen. Holkham is a quiet place, and although the beach huts are there, it still looks desolate and our character will stand out.
When walking along Holkham beach, you come across Wells -
Next -The - Sea, a seaside town, which is much more populated than that of
Holkham. It would be a great place to shoot as we would be able to show the
contrast of the isolation of Holkham beach, and the Hustle and Bustle of Wells.
Aside from the beautiful architecture of the towns streets, Wells also has a
small train which takes the passengers along the beach to a small campsite,
this train would be a perfect place to shoot.
I hope you got some of your planned shots from the little train before the end of the season or?
