Potential unsigned bands

When deciding which sort of unsigned band we would be hunting for, we thought about the pace of the song, the genre etc. We decided that we wanted a quite fast paced song, because we felt that we could have more fun with the filming and editing, also we went for the Indie Pop genre, as we felt that genres such as rap/hip hop would be very hard to portray in a music video. We were considering an artist that was related to bands such as Foals, Two Door Cinema Club and Mystery Jets.

Jungle Doctors

The first artists we came across were "Jungle Doctors", a band from London. We felt that they would be good to use, as their songs are very upbeat and catchy. The song 'fugitives' we felt was very memorable and quick, which we thought would be good for our music video, as we could build a story to it, and have a fun location. However we felt that it was too fast paced, causing the edit to be tricky.

The next song which we felt was very interesting, and a potential song was 'Boat Song', we felt that this already had a theme to it; the beach. Also we felt that the song was interesting and had a catchy beat to it, resulting in the audience being drawn in, and can be used to make a promising video.

Although Jungle Doctors already have a music video to their song, Anna and I studied it, and felt that we could do a lot more with the song provided, and make a more intense and captivating music video.

King No- One

"King No-One" from Yorkshire were the next band we encountered, we felt that they had an up beat summer feel to them, which was relevant as we would be shooting in the summer. Their song 'Vulpix' stood out to us the most out of the three songs given, this is because we felt that their song 'silent song', was too slow and less fast paced, which gave us less of an idea on what we could do for a video. One problem with the song 'Vulpix' is that it is not clear on what the vocalist is saying, as it is important to understand the vocals as they could relate to the story-line of the video.
