Print Productions

As I am adamant that I would like a panorama image within the inside of my album,  I feel that a six paneled album will be much more effective, as the panorama will be shown in its full length. Also it is unique and has more depth to it than just being a container for the CD, which is not what I wanted it to be, I wanted it to be something worth purchasing. I have included print screens of all my print productions as they are edited and created, as not only evidence, but showing development of my growing skills. 

Panel 1 

I have explained my reason for the use of the marble effect in a previous slide. But I feel it turned out well regarding the relevance of sunset and the link with panels 5 and 6. The black font stands out over the colors, which I think is effective as the audience can see the bands name clearly, and the black boat. I edited the colors with added contrast and brightness, because I felt that they needed more depth to them, and that the white lines should stand out further.

With my panorama image, I felt that it was important for the colors to pop out, and grab the audiences attention, I could succeed with this by heightening the color correction, brightness and contrast. I was unsure at one point whether I should emphasis the black colors within the image, or make them low; in the end I chose to heighten the black, as this made the shadows, and craves of the water shine through. I feel this image emphasizes the dream like effect, and makes the image seem almost like a paradise. There is also a contrast between light (left) and dark (right), which is quite appealing as the decking sets the contrast apart.

I decided that the image presented was the best within my still images, because it expresses britishness, and it relates well with the music video and constant theme of a sunset. I also chose this image because I felt it linked with panel 1 and 5, the color contrast is appealing and I do not feel it would give the same effect if it was the image from the arcade. I chose to include a border to make the song selection stand out further, at first I could not decide on what color the border should be, however in the end I felt that black was the perfect color, as it linked with the shadows of the buildings, and made the song names stand out and link with the colors, giving a bold eye catching effect. 

Panel 5 

Idea 1 for magazine advert

The magazine advert was the hardest to edit as I had to include a lot of information (release date, album review, website). I changed the colors, like I had done in the panorama, this was so the sky was much more in depth and the in dent of the cloud in a way underlines the title of the band and the album. The red boat could symbolize the girl dressed in red within the music video, I felt it was important to include a magazine review, NME was perfect as they specialize in the Indie Rock genre. 

Idea 2 for magazine advert

I did not feel that this edit was as strong as the first, because although it encorporated the same information, the single independent boat had much more meaning, and stood out more than the other. 

Promotional Poster

I chose to include a promotional poster, as the target audience would most likely see this, than that of a magazine advert, because they are the clientele who would go to gigs and festivals where these posters would be exhibited. I did not include anything besides the bands logo and their website address, this was to leave suspense and mystery and to result in the audience looking up the band, and finding what the poster was all about. They would also link the music video within this too.
